Why FreerideSnow?
Our approach for guided ski and snowboard tours

Fritz and Theo

In 2010 Fritz and Theo started Freeridesnow. We are small what makes it possible to be extra flexible during our tours. In combination with all the knowledge we have from our past we can offer high quality for competitive prices.

Flexible due to snow and wheather conditions.

We try to go for the best snow. Snowconditions can be very different depending on time of year, location and altitude. During our ski tours and snowboard tours in Canada BC and Alberta we try to be as flexibel as possible. In case there is a fresh snowload in the next skiresort and there is an option to go powder skiing we will do our best to change plans.
Like snow local weather conditions will always be a factor when you go on a skitour. Our program is open for changes in case of really bad conditions: too cold, cloudy or icy. Skiing and snowboarding in Rocky Mountains (Rockies) can be very cold in December, January, February and begin of March. Therefore we use a pool of accomodations (Hotels, Motels, Inns, Lodges and Bed and Breakfast) in different British Columbia and Alberta ski areas and try to pre book as less as possible.

Accomodation

Most guided ski tours in West Canada stay in a hotel, condo or appartment at skiresorts which are pre-booked before tour starts. Because we offer to be more flexible we will go to a wider range of accomodations. This way it is also possible to offer you cheaper accomodation in case you don't mind staying in budget places like Hostels, Motels and Bed and Breakfast.

Half of the dinners included

Going to a restaurants at skiresorts every day during your ski holiday can get quite expensive and little bit boring after a few days. We try to break this daily routine by offering dinners in a more local setting. This way we also can offer special dinner request.

Transportation by Mercedes bus.

During our ski and snowboard tours we use a 12 seats Mercedes Sprinter bus with comfortable seats and head support. We can put luggage, skis and snowboards in back of bus. Driving your own car during wintertime in Canada can be a challenge especially after a super day skiing in powder, glades and moguls. Let the driving to us, take a nap or look outside and enjoy landscape, mountains and typical Canadian countrysides. Renting your own car including full cover insurance and fuel will be expensive especially during high season.

Pick up and drop off from several airports in Canada BC and Alberta

We will and can pick you from following airports: Calgary Airport, Kelowna Airport, Castlegar Airport and Cranbrook Airport. Skitowns and villages we can go to are: Golden, Revelstoke, Vernon, Kelowna, Nelson, Rossland, Kimberley, Fernie, Invermere, Banf, Lake Louise, Pincher Creek.

Local guiding

Fritz lives in Rossland BC and Theo in Kimberley BC. Before, during and after skiing we can go off the beaten track. We try to go for the local Canadian ski experience. This will be quiet runs, fresh snow and lots of info about the local area. We know how skiing is in Europe and try give you enough confidence to challenge the Canadian ski areas and feel the typical lifestyle and humor of the local skifanatics.

Two groups each day at skiresorts

We ski and snowboard with two groups. One group will be more challenging and demanding than the other group. You don't have to go with the group and ski or snowboard indepedent and on your own within the ski boundaries.

Backcountry introduction

Fritz got all his mountaineering training with the Swiss Army and he also attented mountaineering school in Canmore Alberta for avalanche, first aid and guide training. He can take you out for a day introduction backcountry skiing. You will have to bring your own backcountry shoes and skis, or splitboard, snowboard with snowshoes. While Fritz goes backcountry Theo will take rest of the group to Skiresorts. There are almost no extra costs for this service: in stead of one day skipass you will go to a backcountry skiarea.

Extra and special requests

Requests for optional activities during our tours are welcome and possible. Examples: Heli skiing, Cat skiing (steep and deep), Snowmobiling, , cross country, winter camping. We try to find the best deals, so you get an affordable tour.
